TEACHING

I have been teaching since 2014 and have continued to enjoy learning along with students, especially as a perpetually curious former first generation student. My primary goals as a strengths-based, justice-oriented educator are to create a safe, supportive environment to foster enthusiasm for learning and critical reflection as well as motivation for excellence. To achieve this, a trauma-informed criticamulticultural approach is used along with various integrative teaching methods, including full class and group discussions and mixed media that emphasize diversity, social justice, and collaboration.
